Course Overview: Professional Pitch
Hello future freelancer! You have mastered the tech skills: you can design websites, build digital campaigns, and understand data. But there is one skill that separates successful freelancers from busy ones: the pitch.
This course is your essential training in professional communication. It bridges the gap between having a skill and getting paid for it. We will focus on clear, professional Business English, mastering the art of the persuasive Proposal, and handling client interviews with confidence.
You will learn to stop selling your services and start presenting solutions. By the end of this module, you will have a ready-to-use proposal template and the verbal confidence to win contracts. This module is the ultimate tool for turning your technical knowledge into sustainable, high-value income.
Curriculum Outline
We will structure this course around the three core components of winning a contract: Language, Written Proposal, and Interview.
MODULE 1: Business English & Professional Tone
L1: Professional Communication Fundamentals
- Understanding the difference between social and business English.
- Mastering tone, clarity, and conciseness in professional emails and communication.
L2: Active Voice & Persuasive Language
- Using strong, active verbs to convey confidence (e.g., “I implemented” vs. “The project was done by me”).
- Writing client-focused language: focusing on the client’s results (ROI, growth) instead of your tools (Figma, Python).
MODULE 2: The Winning Proposal & Pricing
L3: Proposal Structure: The 7-Section Blueprint
- Identifying the seven mandatory sections of a professional proposal (Executive Summary, Scope, Deliverables, etc.).
- Using the client’s language to define the Problem Statement.
L4: Defining Scope and Deliverables (Avoiding Scope Creep)
- Writing clear, measurable deliverables (what you will do) and exclusions (what you won’t do).
- The contract section: legally protecting yourself and your time.
L5: Professional Pricing and Budget Presentation
- Strategies for pricing services (Hourly vs. Project-Based vs. Value-Based).
- How to present your budget and handle price objections with confidence.
MODULE 3: Client Management & Pitch Delivery
L6: Mastering the Client Interview & Discovery Call
- The Discovery Phase: asking powerful questions to uncover the client’s real needs.
- Handling challenging questions and articulating your unique value proposition (UVP).
L7: Follow-Up, Negotiation, and Closing the Deal
- Writing professional follow-up emails and structuring negotiation talks.
- The art of the “soft close” and transitioning the client from proposal to project start.
